Mosques
Mosques are at the heart of every Muslim community around the world and they play a pivotal role in education, daily worship and special occasions. Indeed, the first act of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) upon his arrival in Medina was to build a mosque.
Mosques serve an important function in the Muslim community, but sadly, many Muslims simply do not have access to a local mosque. Some communities have lost their mosques due to conflict or a natural disaster, while many rural areas never had a mosque. The long journey to the nearest mosque is difficult or impossible for many of those in the greatest need – particularly the sick and elderly.
This is why, at Humanitarian Assistance Society, we put great importance on the need to build a masjid so as all our Muslim brothers and sisters have a safe place to come together.
Orphanage
Afghanistan with 1.6 million estimated vulnerable orphans, it is one of the highest in the world. These children are left with no care or support leaving them victims that are being abused and are taken advantage of. This leaves millions of children without a better future if they even lived that long. Access to food, healthcare, education, shelter, and emotional support are the fundamentals that every young child should have, but there are a number of orphan children in our community who are deprived of these fundamental essentials. These orphans are left with no care or support and exposed to being abused or taken advantage of. To prevent young orphans from being used Humanitarian Assistance Society has constructed three orphanages in Kabul and Jawzjan, one of which has already been opened to use, and the other two are nearing completion. We aim to build and improve secure orphanages around the country continuously. Our critical mission is to provide these orphans happiness and a bright future.
